The security and defense forces' training feature the newly received weaponry from NATO partners: Javelin and NLAW anti-tank missile systems, Stinger missile system, and more.

The tactical exercises of the Armed Forces and other security and defense forces within the command and staff exercises called "Snowstorm-2022" are held in multiple areas across Ukraine.

One of the battle practices included fighting in the border zone to disrupt the organized advance of the conventional enemy and its destruction. Units fired on enemy equipment and personnel during its advance, deployment, and offensive, according to the President of Ukraine's official website.

In the training battle, military units actively used, in particular, combat aircraft, domestic and foreign unmanned aerial vehicles, including Bayraktar TB2, conventional artillery, MLRS, air defense systems, "Stugna-P", “Corsair” modern anti-tank guided missiles of domestic production and NLAW, FGM-148 Javelin, SMAW M-141 provided by Ukraine's partners.

For instance, the stationary missile systems FIM-92 Stinger DMS with two launchers were delivered from Lithuania in the framework of the military aid package. Javelin missile systems have been supplied by the United States since 2018, including the recent batches of missiles to them. SMAW-D missiles are provided by the US, too. NLAW ATGMs are supplied to Ukraine from Great Britain. Along with the weapons, the UK sent their personnel to train Ukrainian troops.

After receiving the first NLAW weapons, the training of NLAW ATGM (Anti-Tank Guided Missile) instructors took place in the shortest possible time – three days for theory and tactics and two days for practical application.

The ground exercises were conducted in Rivne. At the same time on Povors'k proving ground air attack exercises were staged. Su-27 and MiG-29 fighter jets and Su-24M bombers performed simultaneous rocket and bomb strikes. The columns of conventional enemy armored vehicles and manpower were the target. The aircraft took off from at least three different airfields, noted in the statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Various caliber ammunition was used, ranging from unguided air missiles to 500 kg missiles.

"Today, the crews of bomber and fighter aircraft are practicing group strikes on the proving ground, using the air weaponry of 250 kg and 500 kg. These are quite powerful tools, designed to destroy armored vehicles," said Serhii Holubtsov, Chief of Aviation of the Ukrainian Air Force.

As Defense Express reported, Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting tactical and special exercises in preparation for repelling a conventional enemy trying to break through the defenses in the tank- and airborne-hazardous areas. The drills take place amid the escalation of the conflict in Eastern Europe, as Russia is concentrating estimately half its military force near the border of Ukraine, in Belarus, and in the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine. The Ukrainian forces stay strong, with the top military leaders being sure: the Armed Forces of Ukraine are absolutely ready to repel any aggressor.
