Vyrivnyuvach glide bomb kit already supplied to Ukraine's Air Forces, but first shown in detail in France.

During Eurosatory 2026 exhibition currently ongoing in Paris, Vyrivnyuvach was first publicly demonstrated, Ukrainian kit for converting standard bomb into gliding guided bomb from DG Industry company.

Its existence became known in May this year when Brave1 platform officially announced first experimental batch already purchased by Defense Ministry, with development having already passed all necessary tests and ready for combat use.

Also then stated was that Ukrainian glide bomb kit has unique design. Published video did not allow detailed view of Vyrivnyuvach, although immediately clear it is definitely not copy of russian UMPK.

Now one can examine Ukrainian glide bomb kit in more detail specifically kit designed for 250kg (500-pound) bombs.

This involves classic design where kit consists of two separate parts module with wings and their deployment and locking mechanism attached to bomb body with clamps, and tail section replacing standard bomb tail containing navigation and control system.

Such solution is used in American JDAM ER, Turkish KGK, Pakistani Takbir, Chinese LS-6.

Difference between all variants is control surfaces. For example, JDAM-ER has three of four surfaces fully movable, while Vyrivnyuvach uses solution with stabilizers and smaller area rudders.

Worth adding that stated Vyrivnyuvach application range of over 130 km depends on carrier flight parameters. For example, American SDB when dropped at supersonic speed from 15 km altitude flies 137 km. JDAM-ER from 12 km altitude flew 72 km. Its prototype Kerkanya developed in Australia — from 9.1 km altitude at Mach 0.9 flew 140 km.

At the same time, for Ukraine's Air Forces only realistic Vyrivnyuvach delivery method, like JDAM-ER and SDB, is loft release when aircraft approaches at low altitude and performs pull-up maneuver. Because high-altitude flight for Ukrainian fighters is practically impossible due to enemy advantage in long-range SAM systems and air component. In this case glide bomb application range decreases to approximately 40 km.
