A drone launcher and an interesting option for air defense - what systems were shown with Daimler Truck trucks at Eurosatory

Daimler Truck, which is the world's largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles, presented several options at the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition on how their trucks can be "upgraded" for use on the modern battlefield – this is about cooperation with a number of different companies, which resulted in truly noteworthy samples.

Given that trucks by Daimler Truck are supplied to Ukraine, and last fall it became known that more than 1,000 more vehicles were secretly ordered for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, this may also be interesting for the Ukrainian military. This may be even more interesting given that we are talking about cooperation with companies that also supply their weapons to Ukraine and have joint ventures with Ukrainian companies.

Details about the presented samples are given in hartpunkt. For example, in cooperation with the drone manufacturer Helsing, as part of the LMS Multi-Launch Study program, Zetros 2048A truck was presented, equipped with a launcher for HX-2 drones in the amount of up to six units.

These AI strike drones are also used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It recently became known that thousands of these German loitering munitions have already been delivered. A container launcher for these drones was also presented separately at the exhibition.

In addition to the launcher for HX-2, the vehicle is also armed with a remotely controlled SARP remote controlled weapon station by Aselsan.

Also on display was a Zetros 2648A 6x6 truck variant for Twister reconnaissance UAVs, which can take off and land while the vehicle is moving. This is the result of a joint effort between Daimler Truck and Quantum Systems.

Earlier this year, Quantum Systems and Daimler Truck announced a collaboration to integrate the MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit into trucks, which will turn them into unmanned vehicles.

The most interesting variant that could be seen at Eurosatory 2026 was the Zetros 3848A 8x8 truck equipped with a SkyThunder 300 air defense turret by Valhalla Turrets from Slovenia.

The main armament is a 30 mm NG MK44S Bushmaster automatic cannon, and the secondary armament is a Dillon M134D machine gun. The turret also has two Arnold Defense LAND-LGR4 launchers, each of which contains four guided 70 mm missiles.
