The HX-2 software-defined and mass-producible AI strike drones by the German defense company Helsing showed themselves positively when used by the U.S. military during the Project Flytrap 5.0 exercises. These exercises took place at the Pabradė Training Area in Lithuania this spring.

Details about this are told in Axios. In particular, the publication notes that the exercise was attended by Helsing’s software and hardware engineers, while company’s HX-2 AI strike drones demonstrated high results.
In particular, out of 17 drones launched, 15 were able to hit the designated targets, that is, the efficiency exceeded 88%. For the company, this is especially positive in the context of recent accusations in the media that anumber of problems were found in the HX-2 drones during operation in Ukraine. Helsing previously rejected these accusations, stating that they got additional requests for HX-2 drones from Ukrainian units.
The fact that the HX-2 drones were operated by the American military may indicate a possible entry of the Helsing into the American market with this weapon.
It is known that the price for them is quite balanced and can be about 17 thousand euros for one high-tech drone. This is, for example, half the price asked for the russian Lancet loitering munition.
Moreover, the U.S. military, apparently, very positively assessed the capabilities of the HX-2 drone, primarily the variability of its use. In particular, the HX-2 AI strike drone can be used both as a strike platform for destroying ground targets, and as an interceptor drone, as well as a conventional reconnaissance platform.

Let us recall that the HX-2 drone was first introduced in 2024, and now it is gaining new capabilities, for example, it was tested to be launched from sea platforms, which makes it possible to strike deep into Crimea from sea drones.
Defense Express reported earlier that HX-2 drones proved they successfully hitting targets behind russian lines
