Ukrainian Armor, a member of NAUDI, and the Czech AviaNera Technologies, owned by CSG, have agreed to expand their cooperation. This is expected to lead to the localization in Ukraine of jet engine production, assembly, and testing for cruise missiles and drones.
The strategic partnership agreement was signed at the Eurosatory 2026 defense exhibition in Paris, according to e15. It also provides for the future establishment of a joint venture and cooperation on the supply of different types of systems.

AviaNera Technologies emphasizes that this collaboration will involve the production of thousands of engines per year in Ukraine. Initially, the engines will feature thrust ranging from 900 to 1,600 N and are already in high demand within Ukraine's defense sector for systems such as the Bars and Peklo missile drones.
CSG established AviaNera in autumn 2025 and already plans to manufacture 1,000 jet engines in 2026. Production in Ukraine is expected to begin no later than next year, according to the Czech side.

From Defense Express we would like to note that this is expected to support the production of Ukrainian jet-powered UAVs, missile drones, and cruise missiles by increasing engine availability. Concerns about a potential shortage were already raised in April this year, as European production volumes proved insufficient.
For Ukrainian Armor, this is no longer such a surprising deal, as last week it agreed to collaborate on long-range systems with the European missile giant MBDA. Therefore, the work on the engines appears to be a continuation of this line of development.

The Ukrainian company is already collaborating with CSG and manufactures various types of artillery ammunition under its license, including long-range rounds. Therefore, expanding the partnership into other areas makes perfect sense.
Localizing jet engine production in Ukraine is expected to expand supply capabilities for domestic long-range strike systems and strengthen the local industrial baseIt also enables Ukrainian Armor to develop its own drones and missiles if it chooses to do so.
