Ukrainian forces reportedly struck the Armiansk titanium plant in temporarily occupied Crimea, triggering fires and halting operations at one of Eastern Europe's largest industrial facilities

A major industrial facility in temporarily occupied Crimea was reportedly struck during Ukrainian drone attack on the night of June 13. According to Ukrainian officials, the target was the titanium production plant in the city of Armiansk, described as the largest facility of its kind in Eastern Europe.

The strike was announced by Major Robert Madyar Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces. He stated that the attack successfully hit the plant and caused a large fire, forcing production to halt.

The Armiansk facility is primarily known for producing titanium dioxide, a material widely used in the chemical, paint, and manufacturing industries. However, the plant also manufactures chemical feedstocks that can be used in the production of propellants, explosives, and rocket fuel components.

According to Robert Brovdi, post-strike assessment confirmed successful hits on the facility. Video and other forms of objective control reportedly showed fires burning across the industrial complex following the attack.

The commander also cited reports from local Crimean social media channels claiming that the plant was hit by as many as 23 strikes. According to those reports, multiple workshops and production areas suffered damage, while personnel were evacuated from the site.

If confirmed, the disruption of operations at the facility could affect industrial production in Crimea and potentially impact supply chains connected to russia's military-industrial sector.
