Dynamit Nobel Defence shows Eurosatory 2026 modular pod carrying 4 mines per drone with magnetic fuze and 140mm armor penetration at standoff distance

German company Dynamit Nobel Defence (DND) at Eurosatory 2026 international arms exhibition in Paris first presented its new modular Eggbox system for deploying anti-tank AT2+ mines from heavy drones.

Exhibition showed heavy copter drone carrying 4 AT2+ mines in Eggbox module on board. However, company says Eggbox can be integrated onto any drone, with mine quantity on board depending only on drone's own payload capacity. Defence Network reports this.

Worth adding that Eggbox idea evidently emerged against backdrop of active Ukraine drone use, both ground and aerial, for remote mining. This enables precisely mining important roads and passages from safe distances of several dozen kilometers.

Interestingly, these AT2+ anti-tank mines are already used in Ukraine since 2022, when Germany transferred them within military assistance. Active use of these mines in 2022 was also noticed in Kherson Oblast, where in only 3 weeks Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to destroy 120 russian tanks, which these mines likely also helped achieve.

Regarding AT2+ anti-tank mine itself, it is designed for deployment from remote mining systems, for example Mars II MLRS rockets, artillery shells, or mine-laying systems like MiWS Skorpion.

AT2+ mine weighs only 2.22 kg, and together with Eggbox module its mass increases to approximately 3 kg. It is equipped with magnetic fuze and extendable wire that passing vehicle should catch.

For directly engaging this equipment, mine is equipped with directed-action warhead based on Misznay-Schardin effect (likely involving explosively formed penetrator) and can penetrate approximately 140mm of armor.

Currently more Eggbox information is not announced. However, Ukraine could become excellent proving ground for testing this modular system in combat conditions, especially given AT2+ mines are already used in Ukraine.
