Ukrainian UAV operators carried out a wide-ranging strike campaign targeting air defense systems, logistics hubs, and troop positions across temporarily occupied territories

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces continue to systematically degrade russian air defense capabilities in temporarily occupied territories, with a new strike targeting one of the most advanced systems deployed in Crimea.

According to Major Robert Madyar Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Ukrainian drone operators destroyed a key radar component of the S-400 Triumf near Feodosia during the night of April 4. The strike was carried out by the Kairos 9th Battalion of the 414th Brigade.

The targeted system was the 92N6E multifunctional radar, a critical element of the S-400 system responsible for detecting and tracking aerial threats. According to Robert Brovdi, the radar is capable of identifying targets, including high-speed and potentially hypersonic ones, at ranges of up to 600 kilometers, while simultaneously tracking dozens of targets and guiding multiple missiles.

Destroying such a radar significantly degrades the effectiveness of the entire air defense battery. Without its primary sensor, even advanced systems like the S-400 lose much of their ability to detect, track, and engage incoming threats, creating vulnerabilities in what is otherwise a highly integrated defensive network.

Beyond Crimea, Ukrainian drone units conducted a series of additional strikes against russian air defense and logistical infrastructure across multiple regions. Among the targets hit was the Tor-M2 system near Zachativka in Donetsk region, as well as the ZU-23-2 system in Luhansk region.

Ukrainian forces also struck fuel storage assets and logistical hubs, including a fuel tanker in Novosimeikine and logistics nodes in Novopoltavka and Chervone Pole. These attacks aim to disrupt supply chains and reduce the sustainability of russian frontline operations.

Additional targets included command and control elements, troop concentration areas, and deployment points associated with multiple russian units, including motorized rifle brigades and divisions operating in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. This suggests a coordinated effort not only to degrade air defenses but also to weaken operational command structures and troop readiness.
