Separately, the parties focused on several key areas of cooperation.
Strengthening Air Defense and Countering Ballistic Threats:
Ukraine and Sweden are working on additional contributions to the PURL initiative to ensure Ukrainian forces receive critically important weapons, including systems designed to counter ballistic missile threats.
Defense Innovation Partnership:
Ukraine's Brave1 defense innovation cluster is discussing the potential launch of a joint Brave–Sweden program. Structured as a co-financed initiative, the program would enable the attraction of grant funding for defense companies and allow innovative solutions to be tested directly on the front line.
Launching Joint Defense Tech Production:
In parallel, the two sides are working to accelerate the establishment of joint production in the defense tech sector, including the manufacturing of Ukrainian security solutions on Swedish territory.
The aviation dimension was also discussed in detail, particularly the potential delivery of Gripen fighter jets and MBDA Meteor long-range air-to-air missiles.
Kyiv and Stockholm agreed in October 2025 on a major defense framework under which Sweden would supply 100–150 Gripen E fighters.
As previously reported by Defense Express, Stockholm has already transferred 26 Archer self-propelled artillery systems out of the 44 pledged.
