Rheinmetall has revealed the details of a new contract from Germany for unarmored trucks of the RMMV HX line, which has received positive feedback from Ukrainian logisticians. This contract provides for the supply of more than 2,000 vehicles to the Bundeswehr.
According to the German concern, the transfer of trucks will begin in the first half of 2026 and most of the vehicles will arrive by the end of 2026. The value of the deal is 1.015 billion euros, including taxes.

The contract provides for the supply of almost 1,000 trucks with an 8x8 wheel formula as well as about 1,000 more in 4x4 and 6x6 configurations. In general, the contract was signed within the framework agreement of 2024, which provides for the purchase of up to 6,500 vehicles.
From Defense Express, we note that this is most likely a detailing of the order, which became known a week earlier. At that time, a billion euros were allegedly allocated for 610 HX2, which raised a lot of questions.

However, now we see that the roughly determined price of the RMMV HX2 truck is approximately 500 thousand euros per unit. Although this figure is quite conditional, as the options with different wheel formulas were counted the same, which in reality cost differently. However, such values can still be used to calculate other contracts.
In general, this large purchase is intended to support the modernization and expansion of the capabilities of the Bundeswehr. Modern automotive equipment is critically important for ensuring the logistics of any armed forces. Since this is the next and far from the first purchase, its cost approximately corresponds to the cost of the truck.

The RMMV HX truck family has proven itself well thanks to years of trouble-free service including in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Logistics specialists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine give positive feedback on the characteristics, cross-country ability as well as reliability of the trucks.
If such trucks were to be purchased for the Ukrainian military, then 1,000 could easily cost 0.5 billion euros, which is quite a lot. Recall that this is the number of Mercedes-Benz Zetros secretly ordered for Ukraine last year.
