According to the unit, the target was located with assistance from a neighboring Ukrainian formation, which helped identify the vehicle concealed within a tree line. The coordination between units enabled a rapid response and precise strike against the asset.
Once the vehicle's position was confirmed, Ukrainian operators launched a drone attack. The strike successfully hit the tractor despite russian efforts to hide it from aerial surveillance.
The KAMAZ-63501AT Medved system is a relatively uncommon piece of equipment within the russian military. Designed as an armored artillery tractor, it is used to transport artillery systems, ammunition, and personnel in combat zones while offering crews a degree of protection from small arms fire and shrapnel.
The destruction of such specialized vehicles can have an impact beyond the loss of a single platform. Artillery tractors play a key role in maintaining the mobility of gun crews and ensuring a steady flow of ammunition to firing positions, making them important components of battlefield logistics.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces reported striking russian shadow fleet tanker, two oil facilities, Iskander missile system, and two Tu-142 aircraft during a coordinated overnight deep-strike operation.
