Ukraine is expecting weapons and equipment worth €2.2 billion from the German defense company Rheinmetall, following substantial contracts signed in recent years

Direct arms sales from Rheinmetall to Ukraine reached €1 billion in 2025 alone. At the same time, the company's backlog, meaning confirmed orders for Ukraine, currently stands at €2.2 billion.

This was disclosed in Rheinmetall's investor presentation for the 2025 financial year. The listed categories include combat vehicles, ammunition, unmanned aerial systems, support vehicles, special operations forces equipment, medical systems, air defense systems, as well as monitoring and communication solutions.

In the air defense segment, the Skyranger 35 stands out. These systems are designed to counter drones, including Shahed-type UAVs, and have been delivered to Ukrainian forces since November 2025, mounted on Leopard 1 chassis.

Among combat vehicles, the Lynx infantry fighting vehicle is highlighted, with five units expected to arrive in Ukraine in early 2026. The RCH 155 self-propelled howitzer is also worth noting, although deliveries have long been expected and no updates have been provided. These systems are produced by Rheinmetall in cooperation with KNDS.

Rheinmetall is currently one of Europe's largest ammunition suppliers, producing rounds for 155 mm artillery, tanks, and air defense systems. Ukrainian forces actively receive such ammunition, although efforts to establish local production have faced delays.

Support vehicles likely refer to RMMV trucks from the TG and HX series, which are widely used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, particularly in logistics. Special operations equipment includes Caracal tactical vehicles, first announced for delivery in 2023.

Regarding UAVs, previous deliveries included the Luna NG system. However, it remains unclear whether additional orders have been placed, as such information is not publicly disclosed and German military aid is currently classified. There were also proposals to supply FV-014 strike drones, but no contract has been finalized so far.

In the medical segment, Rheinmetall is producing mobile field hospitals for Ukraine, with deliveries expected by the end of 2026. The company also operates facilities in Ukraine that enable local maintenance and repair.

It should be noted that the presentation specifies data for the 2025 financial year only. This suggests that the listed categories are either currently being delivered or planned for delivery. However, as this is an investor presentation, it may also include projected or potential sales.
