These MLRS Turned Against Their Creators: Top-3 Ukraine's Trophies Firing Back on russians

Ukrainian Armed Forces use seized russian equipment to launch strikes against the invading russians

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published its rating of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) captured by the Armed Forces during battles with the russian occupation army.

In the third place, the ministry appreciated the BM-27 "Uragan" 220-mm rocket launcher, which "in the skillful hands of Ukrainian soldiers will destroy the enemy at a distance of 30-35 km." The system can fire up to 16 rockets weighing 280 kg each in a 20-second volley.

The second place belongs to the "Tornado-G" MLRS; this one will soon "effectively ‘work’ against its former owners due to its long-range, accuracy, destructive power and satellite guidance." It is a modernization of the Soviet BM-21 "Grad" rocket launcher but with a higher level of automation, which significantly reduced the time required for deployment and firing.

Finally, the first place was "awarded" to the TOS-1A "Solntsepyok" heavy flamethrower system, which can cover an area of 200x200 meters with a volley of 24 thermobaric rockets. So far, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have "trophied" about four such vehicles.

The Soviet-era BM-21 "Grad" MLRS remained off the rating – according to the data provided by Oryx, russians have lost 63 vehicles of this kind (however, these are only those losses that have been recorded in photos and videos, so the actual figure might be much higher).
