The journalist noted in his post that the first batch of Bushmasters are freshly repainted and refitted ahead of being flown to Europe on a Boeing C-17 in response to Ukraine' request on March 31.

Earlier, Defense Express reported that Australia agreed to send Bushmasters to Ukraine after the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy specifically asked for them for the Armed forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, it is still unknown how many more such PMV Ukraine will receive, apart from the first known batch of four Bushmasters.

Bushmaster protected mobility vechicle is a type of infantry mobility vehicle. It is an Australian-built four-wheel drive lightly-armoured vehicle. The role of the Bushmaster is to provide protected mobility transport (or protected troop lift capability), with infantry dismounting from the vehicle before going into action. High-hard steel specified for Bushmaster provides better ballistic protection and IED protection.
Currently, such vehicles are in service in the Australian Army (more than 1,000 units), the Netherlands (about 60 units) and several other countries (the number does not exceed 10 units).
