Commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi has said that the situation around Bakhmut, Donetsk region, remains difficult - the assault units of Russia's Wagner Group are advancing from several directions, trying to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

"The situation around Bakhmut remains difficult. Wagner’s assault units are advancing from several directions, trying to break through the defenses of our troops and advance to the central districts of the city," Syrskyi said.

In the course of fierce battles, the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflict significant losses on the enemy.
"All enemy attempts to seize the city are repelled by artillery, tanks, and other fire weapons. The defense of the fortress continues!" Syrskyi stressed.
At the same time the Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces notes the competent actions of the worriors of the 56th Motorized Brigade, the 5th separate assault brigade and the fighters of the Adam tactical group in the defense of Bakhmut.

"In order to force the enemy to abandon the offensive, it is necessary to inflict significant losses on troops and equipment. This is exactly how the servicemen of the 56th OMBr, the 5th separate assault brigade and the fighters of the Adam tactical group operate. In difficult battles, the soldiers of the Eastern Front dig into the ground and defend every piece of our Motherland," Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi posted on Telegram.
"We will force the enemy to leave our country, completely destroying all his plans. Honor!" the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concludes.
