A mobile fire group from the Steel Border brigade successfully intercepted and neutralized russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Herbera type. The incident, detailed in a video released by the brigade, highlights the ongoing efforts to counter reconnaissance and fire adjustment threats posed by russian forces.
The UAV, used primarily for gathering intelligence and directing artillery fire, posed a serious risk to both military personnel and civilians. In a striking demonstration of resourcefulness, the fire group employed decades-old DShK machine gun, a weapon originally developed in the 1930s, to take down modern aerial threat. Despite its age, the DShK has proven to be a reliable tool in the arsenal against unmanned systems, the brigade states.
