On the night of January 27-28, 2025, a fire in Voronezh, russia, resulted in the destruction of two R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare systems. These expensive and sophisticated automated stations were located at the Protek factory, the facility responsible for their production.
The R-330Zh Zhytel is a key component of russia’s electronic warfare arsenal, designed to jam communication signals and GPS navigation. The systems were reportedly intended for deployment in russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
