Only now, as the Financial Times writes with reference to estimates received by journalists of the publication, it became known that in recent weeks the DPRK sent about 50 M1989 Koksan self-propelled guns to the russian federation. In addition, North Korea also sent 20 more modernized 240mm multiple rocket launcher systems to russia.

It is noted that in the case of the MLRS, we are talking about a vehicle that was created on the basis of the Soviet BM-27 Grad MLRS. It is also noted that in May of this year, North Korea successfully tested an updated system with high-precision ammunition.

It appears to be an M1991 MLRS, which is based on a 6x6 truck and is equipped with 22 240mm rocket launchers (two rows of eight and one of six). According to data from open sources, the DPRK may have several hundred such systems at its disposal, along with the M1985 MLRS, which has 12 launchers.
M1991 MLRS has a firing range of up to 60 km. In open sources we can find information that North Korean engineers allegedly managed to increase this indicator up to 120 km, but there is no confirmation of these statements.
As noted in the publication, as of today, some part of the artillery systems has already been transferred to the Kursk region.
