The targeted towers were located near Okhvat in the Tver region, as well as in the areas of Demyansk and Valdai in the Novgorod region.
In coordination with the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the partisans conducted a series of simultaneous sabotage operations on the eve of March 17, setting fire to the identified facilities.
This action opened an air corridor for Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, allowing them to reach and strike an aircraft repair plant in the city of Staraya Russa.
The facility in Staraya Russa specializes in the repair and maintenance of military transport aircraft operated by russia's Aerospace Forces, including Il-76 and Il-78 aircraft, as well as D-30KP and AI-20 engines.
According to Atesh, two A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft were present at the facility at the time of the strike. These are among the most scarce and high-value assets in the russian Aerospace Forces inventory.

Repairs and recovery efforts are expected to take months.
Earlier, Defense Express reported that on March 17, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck targets at the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in Staraya Russa, Novgorod region, russia.
Also, Defense Express previously reported that Atesh partisans had exposed a key russian facility producing T-90M tanks, BMPT Terminator vehicles, and TOS-1A systems.
