According to the Danish Defense Minister, Trolls Lund Poulsen, this was the first agreement that his country concluded on the production of Ukrainian artillery systems

The Defense Forces of Ukraine have already received 18 2S22 Bohdana 155-mm self-propelled howitzers, the production of which was financed by Denmark in July of this year. The self-propelled howitzers were produced in two months. This was reported in the Danish Ministry of Defense.

The head of the country's defense department, Trols Lund Poulsen, made a corresponding statement during a speech at the Yalta European Strategy (YES).

Poulsen visited Ukraine in March 2024. At that time, the main request was to increase the production of weapons - missiles, drones and artillery.

"This was the first agreement we concluded. In July, we placed an order [with Ukrainian manufacturers] for the production of 18 Bohdana self-propelled howitzer, and this weekend they were already handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said.

According to the Danish minister, the production of weapons in Ukraine is much cheaper compared to their purchase in Western countries.

The 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled howitzer is a Ukrainian self-propelled artillery installation of caliber 155 mm. The installation has a crew of five people, the vehicles maximum speed is up to 80 km/h, maximum firing range — up to 60 km.

The production of the " Bohdana self-propelled howitzer started back in 2015 at the PJSC Kramatorsk Heavy Duty Machine Tool Building Plant, part of NAUDI — the National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industries. The howitzer was used for the first time in 2022 during the battles for the Snake Island. The Bohdana self-propelled howitzer was officially adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2023.

As Defense Express reported, despite constant russian attacks, Ukrainian manufacturers developed serial production of 2S22 Bohdana howitzer.
