18 Bohdana wheeled howitzers will be ready within months as part of defense cooperation agreement

The Danish government will fund the production of 18 Ukrainian 2S22 Bohdana wheeled howitzers, which will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the Danish Ministry of Defense.

These units are expected to be delivered to the Ukrainian military within the next few months. The decision to provide this particular artillery system as military aid was based on the official recommendation of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.

This marks the first time a country has ordered heavy weaponry from Ukrainian production for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This action is part of an official defense cooperation agreement between the two countries, signed in June of this year.

“I hope that more countries will adopt the Danish model of procurement in Ukraine. The capabilities of Ukrainians to produce equipment exceed their current funding. Therefore, there is significant potential for such agreements to result in more equipment being produced in Ukraine, while also helping to build up Ukraine’s defense industry,” Lund Poulsen said.
