The Ukrainian Defense Forces are known to operate Ferret Mk1 armored reconnaissance vehicles, and recently, rare footage of one surfaced on social media.
The Ferret is a British scout vehicle developed in the late 1940s and operated by the British Army from 1952 to 1991.

The vehicle was first seen with the Ukrainian military in August 2022, when a detailed review was also published. It is considered one of the smallest armored vehicles in the world, with a body length of less than 3.9 meters and a height of under 1.5 meters (excluding the machine gun).
At the time, it was reported that the vehicle had likely been acquired for Ukraine’s Armed Forces through volunteer initiatives.
Since then, the Ferret has occasionally appeared in battlefield footage. For instance, earlier this year, it was seen in a video from the 3rd Assault Brigade, where it reportedly took part in liberating the village of Nadiia in the Luhansk Region.
Also, in 2024, a Ferret Mk1 was spotted equipped with a turret-mounted MG3 machine gun.
Previously, Defense Express reported on how the Ukrainian-made Inguar armored vehicle was tested in combat conditions, providing valuable feedback from the troops to develop further upgrades.
