Ukrainian forces reported hitting the FINA A tanker alongside a series of strikes targeting russian logistics and command infrastructure

Ukrainian forces carried out a series of coordinated strikes against russian military and logistical targets on June 16 and during the night of June 17, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The operation targeted assets supporting russia's military campaign in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories and beyond.

One of the most notable targets was the FINA A tanker, which was reportedly struck in the Black Sea. The vessel has been sanctioned by the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ukraine for its role in russia's shadow fleet, used to transport oil and petroleum products while circumventing international sanctions.

The General Staff confirmed that the tanker was successfully hit, although the extent of the damage remains under assessment. Measuring nearly 245 meters in length and with a gross tonnage exceeding 62,000, the vessel represents a significant maritime asset linked to russian energy exports.

In addition to the strike at sea, Ukrainian forces targeted infrastructure used to support russian military logistics and troop movements between temporarily occupied territories in the south of Ukraine. Such operations are intended to complicate the movement of personnel, equipment, and supplies across the battlefield.

Among the infrastructure targets were two road bridges. One spans the North Crimean Canal near the settlement of Stavky, while the other is located near Voinka in Kherson region. Both crossings are believed to play a role in sustaining russian military logistics in temporarily occupied areas.

Ukraine also reported strikes against russian command-and-observation post and a command center near Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region. Command facilities are considered high-value targets because they coordinate battlefield operations and communications between frontline units.

Separate attacks targeted russian drone control centers across several regions, including Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, and russia's Kursk region. By targeting UAV command infrastructure, Ukrainian forces aim to reduce the effectiveness of russian reconnaissance and strike drone operations.
