Service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have captured one of the rarest Russian tanks - T-80UK. This vehicle is a special modernized version of the T-80U tank, designed for the tank unit commander.

Only a few T-80UK were ever manufactured and all of them were supplied to the "elite" 4th Kantemir tank division.
It is easy to visually identify this tank by the Shtora protection system and laser detectors. Overall, what distinguishes this tank from the basic model are additional radios and navigation equipment. Considering how rare this model is, it is rational to suspect that the captured vehicle belonged to a battalion commander.
It is worth noting that T-80UK was spotted during the Russian military exercise "Zapad-2021", along with T-80YM2 Black eagle that was burned down in Sumy region.
