Despite heavy losses, russians still try to go on the offensive in the most intense segment of the Ukrainian war frontline

Another attack of the russian forces on the stronghold of the Ukrainian Defense Forces resulted in a counterattack launched by the servicemen of the State Border Guard Service along with the Ukrainian army.

The actions took place near Bakmut, a city that is considered the main focus of the russian efforts for the past several months. How it happened, describes a release from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

After an artillery strike, an assault group of russian forces approached Ukrainian positions. Having weathered the barrage in shelter, Ukrainian troops opened fire and forced the russians to draw back:

"As they saw the panicked retreat of the invaders, Ukrainian 'Green Berets' together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive. With a swift attack, our warriors 'on the enemy's shoulders' took their positions, while the enemy itself continued the withdrawal into the deep [rear]," reads the notice from the State Border Guard Service.

As a result, Ukrainian border guards pushed the russians 300 m back and occupied their previous position, setting up a defense.

In addition, here is the footage from around Bakmut published earlier today by the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine. The caption says, this is how the russian recon group looks after meeting with Ukrainian SOF.
