On the night of July 7, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Drone Systems Forces, in coordination with other elements of the Defense Forces, struck the JSC Krasnozavodsk Chemical Plant in russia’s moscow region. The plant is known for manufacturing pyrotechnic devices and ammunition, including thermobaric warheads for Shahed-type UAVs, which are widely used by the russian military.
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, a series of explosions occurred in the vicinity of Krasnozavodsk following the strike. Emergency services and fire crews were reportedly seen moving through nearby settlements, suggesting significant damage to the facility.

The strike was part of a broader campaign aimed at reducing the russian federation’s capacity to produce explosives and munitions.
"The Defense Forces continue to take active measures to undermine the offensive capabilities of russian forces and compel the kremlin to end its war of aggression against Ukraine," the General Staff said in an official statement.
While the full results of the strike are still being assessed, the operation underscores Ukraine’s increasing ability to conduct precision strikes deep inside russian territory. These actions not only disrupt critical supply chains and weapons production, but also send a clear strategic message: no part of the aggressor’s territory is beyond Ukraine’s reach.

As Defense Express reported earlier, on July 7, long-range drones of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence attacked a russian oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai.
