Ukrainian drones struck two large ammunition depots on the night of August 19, setting off at least seven explosions in temporarily occupied town that serves as a key railway hub for russian supplies to the Pokrovsk front

On the night of August 19, the Security Service of Ukraine drones struck two russian ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied settlement of Bilokurakyne, Luhansk region. The town lies on a key railway line used by russia to deliver ammunition to the front, particularly toward the Pokrovsk axis.

According to preliminary data, Ukrainian drones landed at least seven direct hits on the depots. The strikes triggered a series of powerful explosions followed by a large-scale fire.

The scale of the blaze was so significant that it was detected by FIRMS, the international fire-monitoring system that tracks hotspots worldwide in real time. The evidence further confirms the effectiveness of the Ukrainian operation.

Bilokurakyne's location underscores the strategic nature of the strike. By targeting ammunition hubs along the supply chain, Ukrainian forces disrupt russia's ability to maintain consistent firepower on some of the most contested parts of the front line.

The Security Service of Ukraine emphasized that these attacks are part of a broader campaign aimed at weakening the offensive potential of russian troops. Systematic strikes deep in the rear seek to exhaust russian logistics and make it harder for the occupiers to sustain offensive pressure.

For Ukrainian defenders on the ground, every destroyed depot translates into fewer shells and rockets used against their positions. This, in turn, reduces the intensity of russian assaults, particularly on sectors where Ukrainian troops face heavy pressure.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian forces have struck a critical energy facility in russia's Tambov region, dealing another blow to the logistics network that sustains Moscow's war machine. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the operation on August 18, noting that the target was a key oil pumping station.
