Ukraine is not done targeting russian oil industry with precision strikes

On Monday, July 7, long-range drones of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (DIU) attacked an oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai (russia). As a result of the attack on the facility, one of the technological workshops of the enterprise was hit, Ukrainian media report citing sources in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

In particular, the drones hit the facilities of this oil refinery, as confirmed by local sources.

"On July 7, Ukrainian long-range drones hit the Ilsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai. As a result of the UAV attack on the facility, the refinery was hit," reads the post by a russian so-called "media."

The Ilsky Oil Refinery named after A. Shamar, located in the Krasnodar Krai, is one of the leading enterprises in the oil refining industry of the Southern Federal District of russia.

This oil refinery specializes in the reception, storage and processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, as well as the shipment of finished products by rail and road transport.

"This refinery is part of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor state, directly involved in waging an aggressive war against Ukraine," the report of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence said.

Krasnodar Krai is the oldest oil-producing region in russia so it has a long history of oil industry development. There are five oil refineries operating in the region: RN-Tuapse Oil Refinery LLC, Afipsky Oil Refinery LLC, Krasnodar Oil Refinery - Krasnodarekoneft CJSC, Ilsky Oil Refinery LLC, and Slavyansk ECO LLC.

The Ilsky Oil Refinery named after A. A. Shamar is located in the urban-type settlement of Ilsky in the Seversky District of Krasnodar Krai, 50 kilometers from Krasnodar. Raw materials are supplied through the Transneft oil pipeline system and by rail via the functioning Grushovaya and Tikhoretskaya transshipment oil depots of Chernomortransneft OJSC.

The production capacity of the Ilsky Oil Refinery in 2022 was up to 6.6 million tons of oil per year. Export of petroleum products by sea transport is carried out through port terminals of the Black Sea and Azov coast ports – Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Taman.

As Defense Express reported, earlier UAVs Hit Workshop of VNIIR-Progress Plant. It manufactured components for missiles and drones that russia uses to terrorized Ukraine.
