The Defense Forces of Ukraine struck a russian factory producing ballistic missiles. Ukraine targeted the JSC Votkinsk Machine Building Plant, located more than 1,300 km from the Ukrainian border. The attack was carried out using Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles.
The strike has not yet been officially confirmed. At the same time, Denys Shtilerman, chief designer at Fire Point, the company that manufactures Flamingo missiles, posted footage of the missiles being launched on social media with the caption: "Here's a short video. No context. Context to follow." This may hint at a strike on the Votkinsk plant, although this is not explicitly stated.

Meanwhile, OSINT specialists from CyberBoroshno confirmed that the strike targeted this facility. "The strike has been confirmed — the production workshops were hit," the statement reads.
This is a major facility, crucial for the russian federation's defense industry, and presumably should be protected by multiple air defense systems. This is at least the third time in a month that Flamingo missiles have hit heavily protected facilities, including the Kapustin Yar test range, from where russia launches Oreshnik, and the GRAU arsenal.
It should be clarified that a precise single strike will not fully stop production of certain missiles, but it can disrupt it. The destruction of such facilities requires a series of targeted strikes and a significant number of missiles. At the same time, given the recent increase in Ukrainian missile strikes on russia, more such attacks can be expected in the future.
The russian Votkinsk plant has a long history dating back to 1759, when the enterprise was founded. It has been involved in ballistic missile production since 1957, including missiles such as the Pioneer IRBM in the 1970s and the 9M79-1 tactical missiles for the Tochka-U system in the 1980s.

The JSC Votkinsk Machine Building Plant began producing Topol-M ICBMs in 1998, followed by Iskander-M ballistic missiles in 2006, which the russian federation uses to terrorize Ukraine. It is also involved in the production of the Oreshnik IRBM.
