Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces reported coordinated drone strikes hitting russian air defense assets, logistics infrastructure, and reconnaissance systems across Donetsk region

During the night of May 24, 2026, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a coordinated series of strikes against russian military infrastructure located deep behind the front line, targeting air defense assets, logistics hubs, fuel supplies, and troop positions.

The operation was announced by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Madyar Brovdi, who released a compilation video showing the reported strikes and their aftermath.

According to Robert Brovdi, one of the most significant targets was a launcher of russian S-300 surface-to-air missile system located near Lazarivka in Donetsk region. The strike was reportedly accompanied by the destruction of the 9S19 Imbir radar station near Stritenka, another valuable component of russian air defense architecture.

9S19 radar is designed for long-range target detection and tracking and is associated with strategic air defense systems. The loss of such radar assets can significantly reduce the effectiveness of russian air defense coverage in a sector, especially when combined with the destruction of launchers and supporting equipment.

Ukrainian drone operators also targeted russian logistical infrastructure. Among the reported strikes were attacks on railway fuel tankers carrying fuel in Debaltseve, as well as multiple supply depots in Donetsk region, including facilities near Dokuchaievsk, Novoianysol, and Kreminivka.

These facilities reportedly included ammunition warehouses, materiel support depots, and a field army storage site used to sustain russian combat operations. Attacks on such rear-area infrastructure are intended to complicate ammunition resupply, fuel distribution, and operational coordination for russian forces at the front.

The strike package additionally included a reported hit on a temporary deployment point near Mykilske in Donetsk region, as well as the destruction of russian Merlin-VR reconnaissance drone. Merlin-VR drone is used by russian forces for battlefield surveillance and artillery correction, making it a valuable target for Ukrainian forces seeking to reduce enemy reconnaissance capabilities.
