Ukrainian forces conducted coordinated attacks on May 23-24, targeting the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal, ammo depots, UAV command posts, and ships in Novorossiysk

Ukrainian forces carried out a series of coordinated strikes against russian military and logistics infrastructure on May 23 and during the night of May 24, targeting fuel facilities, ammunition depots, drone command posts, and naval assets in temporarily occupied territories and inside russia itself. The operation reflects Ukraine's continued strategy of disrupting the logistical backbone supporting russian military operations.

One of the most significant targets was the oil-loading pier of the Tamanneftegaz terminal located in Volna, Krasnodar region. According to preliminary information, Ukrainian forces damaged an oil-loading stander used for transferring petroleum products. The Tamanneftegaz terminal is considered one of russia's key oil export hubs in the Black Sea region, with an annual handling capacity of up to 20 million tons of oil and petroleum products.

Beyond its commercial importance, the facility also plays a role in supporting the russian military by facilitating fuel supply and transport operations linked to the war effort. Strikes against energy infrastructure tied to military logistics have become a recurring element of Ukraine's long-range campaign aimed at reducing russia's operational sustainment capabilities.

Ukrainian forces also reportedly struck several storage facilities used by russian troops. These included an ammunition depot in occupied Crimea near Mizhhiria, as well as logistics warehouses, ammunition stockpiles, and fuel storage facilities in the area of Bilolutsk in Luhansk region. Such targets are critical for maintaining the supply chain supporting russian frontline units.

In addition, Ukraine targeted multiple russian UAV command posts. According to the report, drone control centers were hit near Borysivka in Belgorod region, Voskresenka in Donetsk region, and Tyotkino in Kursk region. Attacks on UAV command infrastructure are intended to degrade russia's reconnaissance and strike drone operations, which have become a major component of battlefield activity.

Another reported strike targeted concentrations of russian personnel near the settlement of Volfynskyi in Kursk region. Although details regarding casualties or equipment losses were not disclosed, attacks on troop concentrations can disrupt force rotations, staging areas, and preparations for offensive operations near the border.

Ukraine also claimed strikes against naval assets at the Novorossiysk naval base in Krasnodar region. According to preliminary reports, the Pytlivyy patrol ship and a missile-equipped hovercraft were damaged during the attack. The extent of the damage remains under assessment.

As Defense Express previously reported, russia attacked Ukraine overnight on May 24 with a massive wave of 90 missiles and 600 drones, including possible Oreshnik ballistic missile launches, Kinzhal, Zircon, Kalibr, Iskander, Kh-101 missiles and Shahed UAVs, with Kyiv identified as the primary target.
