Russian troops have fired mortar shells at the Ukrainian checkpoint in Senkivka, the Chernihiv region.
The Ukrainian Interior Ministry wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Enemy mines and drones are once again penetrating the sky over the Chernihiv region. Today, border guards recorded shelling from Russia near the Ukrainian checkpoint Senkivka," the statement said.
According to the ministry, Russian troops fired about 40 120mm mortar rounds.
Ukrainian border guards were not injured by the shelling, the statement said.
The enemy also conducted air reconnaissance of the border infrastructure in the area of the Hirsk and Dobrianka border service departments.

The Russian military shelled 21 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past 24 hours, killing two people and injuring three more, including a child.
“Over the past 24 hours, 21 settlements came under enemy fire: Mariupol, Avdiivka, Mykolayivka, Lyman, Siversk, Pryvillya, Toretsk, Lastochkine, Rayhorodok, Novoselivka, Velyka Novosilka, Shandryholove, Vremivka, Tetianivka, Solovyove (Donetsk region), Sievierodonetsk, Rubizhne, Popasna, Lysychansk, Hirske, Zolote, Novodruzhesk (Luhansk region),” the Joint Forces Operation posted on Facebook.

During a closed briefing for media representatives, a senior defense official at the US Department of Defense shared intelligence assessments. In particular, he said russian occupiers have used more than 1,950 missiles on Ukraine, mostly on Mariupol. Notably, a "predominance of the ordinance being dropped is dumb ordinance, not precision-guided, and we think that that speaks to challenges that the Russians are having with PGM replenishment," as the official stated.
Besides, the Pentagon official informed that in the last 24 hours, "there have been almost 20 deliveries [of arms] via airlift from seven different nations that have been received in the region at multiple locations", which included "everything from mines to small caliber rounds and rockets, 122-millimeter rockets, helmets, body armor" and other unspecified things, as well as 155mm artillery rounds from the United States.
According to the defense official, "more than a dozen flights" with military aid shipments from the USA are expected with howitzers, more 155mm rounds to them, some of those Phoenix Ghost UAVs, and radars.
