Ukrainian forces carried out a broad series of strikes against russian military infrastructure on May 21 and during the night of May 22, targeting air defense systems, command posts, ammunition depots, communications hubs, and river crossings across multiple sectors of the front.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces successfully struck russian Osa surface-to-air missile system located in temporarily occupied Donetsk. The Osa is a short-range air defense platform designed to protect troops and military assets from aircraft and drones, making it an important component of frontline russian defenses.

Ukrainian strikes also targeted command-and-observation posts in Novopetrykivka in Donetsk region and in Tyotkino, Kursk region of russia. Attacks on such facilities are intended to disrupt battlefield coordination, communications, and decision-making processes among russian units operating near the front.
Another reported strike hit a command point near Voskresenka in Dnipropetrovsk region, while a communications node was targeted in Verkhnii Tokmak Druhyi in Zaporizhzhia region. Communications infrastructure has become an increasingly important target in the war, as both sides rely heavily on digital coordination for artillery, drone operations, and troop movements.
Ukrainian forces also focused on russian drone operations by striking UAV command points in Selydove, Malynivka, and Vesele in Donetsk region. The attacks reflect Ukraine's growing effort to weaken russian reconnaissance and strike drone capabilities, which play a critical role in artillery targeting and frontline surveillance.
Several russian logistics facilities were reportedly damaged as well, including an ammunition depot in Velyka Novosilka, a material and technical supply warehouse in Donetsk, and another logistics depot in Rovenky, Luhansk region. Disrupting supply chains remains one of the key objectives of Ukrainian deep-strike operations.
In addition, Ukrainian forces struck concentrations of russian personnel in multiple locations, including Selydove, Ukrainka, and Pokrovsk in Donetsk region, Malynivka in Zaporizhzhia region, and Troiebortne in Bryansk region of russia. Such attacks are aimed at reducing troop concentrations before they can be deployed to frontline operations.
Separate strikes reportedly targeted russian military crossings over the Oskil and Bakhmutivka rivers near Holubivka in Kharkiv region and near Siversk in Donetsk region. River crossings are strategically significant logistical points, and damaging them can complicate troop rotations, ammunition deliveries, and the movement of heavy equipment. The General Staff emphasized that Ukrainian forces will continue systematic operations aimed at weakening russian military capabilities and countering ongoing aggression.
