The press service of the 1st Special Purpose Brigade named after Ivan Bohun of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published a video on their YouTube account featuring the upgraded Ukrainian 2S22 Bohdana SPG. In the video, one of the servicemen spoke about the modernized artillery system, which effectively targeted russian invaders on the battlefield.
The driver-mechanic, a soldier with the call sign "Papa," who has experience operating both the new version (based on Tatra 8x8 chassis) and the old experimental Bohdana (based on KrAZ chassis), describes the Ukrainian SPG. According to him, the upgraded vehicle is significantly better than the initial prototypes of the self-propelled artillery system.

"It's more comfortable, with better computer performance, improved mobility, climate control, and autonomy. It is very convenient," says "Papa." He specifically emphasizes the stability of the cabin during firing: "It does not throw, does not shake, it remains absolutely stable."

Among the temporary drawbacks of the vehicle is the absence of an automatic loading system, which affects the rate of fire of the Bohdana self-propelled howitzer. Currently, the crew can carry out up to three shots per minute. With an automatic loading system, this figure would double to six shots per minute.
As for the range, the Bohdana self-propelled howitzer can strike targets up to 14-15 km away using M107 projectiles, while with long-range ammunition, the maximum range reaches 41-42 km.
By the way, it is "Papa", who talks about the advantages of Bohdana SPG, has being the driver-mechanic during the Ukrainian SPG's participation in liberating Zmiinyi (Snake) Island in tandem with the French Caesar self-propelled howitzer.

As the soldier recalls, the operation was very difficult due to adverse weather conditions, and they had to shoot at maximum range. In total, 48 projectiles were fired at Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, approximately seven in the first half of the day and the rest later on.
