The Canadian branch of General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS Canada) showed at the CANSEC 2026 exhibition a new 155-mm GRIZZLY LAV Self-Propelled Howitzer, which will be promoted for the Canadian Armed Forces. This is actually another version of the German RCH 155 SPH, which was previously ordered for Ukraine.

According to the company, the armored combat vehicle of the LAV family with 10x10 wheel formula was used as chassis for this self-propelled howitzer . Such vehicles are manufactured and in service in Canada. The use of this chassis is most likely related to the request of the Canadian military to ensure the unification of platforms used in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Of interest may be the description of KNDS 155mm Artillery Gun Module, which is also used in the RCH 155 SPH. In GDLS it is called the "combat-proven, fire-on-the-move KNDS 155mm Artillery Gun Module".
From Defense Express we note that such a presentation of this system allows us to assume that the RCH 155 SPH ordered for Ukraine have already been used on the fronts of the russia-Ukraine war. It should be noted that this system had no other opportunities to be in real combat operations.
Although this cannot be considered a full-fledged official confirmation, the chance that the RCH 155 SPH has already been used in Ukraine is high, as they announced the future rapid delivery of these systems back in August 2025.

As for the Canadian configuration, it resembles the RCH 155 SPH variant for Switzerland - Radhaubitze, which is based on the 8x8 Piranha armored combat vehicle. The manufacturer of such chassis is the European division of GDLS - GDELS.
Moreover, the Canadian LAV armoured vehicles family originates from the MOWAG Piranha. So, most likely, the joint developments with the KNDS for the Swiss are now being offered for Canada. Self-propelled howitzer with such an artillery gun module are also offered by the United States, including on the Boxer tracked platform.

Ukraine is to receive 54 RCH 155 SPHs on the Boxer chassis, which began to be ordered in 2022 with the first model formally transferred in early 2025. Germany has already placed an order for 84 such self-propelled howitzers, and the United Kingdom has ordered 72 units of such systems.
