On the brigade’s Facebook page, photos of the Bohdana-B were published. It is a towed version of the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled artillery system, developed by KZTS, a public joint-stock company and part of NAUDI. This brigade already operates the self-propelled version of Bohdana and has now received its towed counterpart.
The development of Bohdana-B was first revealed in 2023 when it became clear that Ukraine could produce more artillery components for Bohdana than the Czech company Tatra could supply chassis for. Due to the ongoing demand for artillery, the idea of developing a towed Bohdana-B emerged.

Despite the chassis shortage, official data indicates that Ukraine produced 154 units of the Bohdana self-propelled artillery system in 2024. Since the 47th Separate Artillery Brigade has already received the new Bohdana-B, serial production has likely begun, suggesting that the number of domestically produced artillery systems will increase significantly in 2025.

The first public appearance of Bohdana-B took place in 2024 during an exhibition of the latest domestic weaponry samples for foreign partners. At that time, it was demonstrated on a chassis similar to the 2A36 Giatsint-B gun but without protective shields. This time, Bohdana-B was showcased in full configuration with shields.

Currently, the technical characteristics of Bohdana-B remain undisclosed. However, given that it shares the same gun as the self-propelled Bohdana, its firing range is expected to be identical—approximately 40-42 km. The self-propelled version has a rate of fire of 5-6 rounds per minute, but since the towed version lacks an automatic shell loader, its rate of fire will be lower.

Compared to the self-propelled variant, Bohdana-B has reduced mobility, making both the crew and the gun more vulnerable to counter-battery fire. However, with the growing trend of entrenching artillery systems to improve their survivability against strike drones, Bohdana-B remains highly relevant on the battlefield.
