Domestically developed, the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled artillery gun proved to have even more accurate fire than the German counterpart PzH 2000, and far beyond the abilities of the Soviet 2S7 Pion. The bold statement comes from a crew of the 48th Artillery Brigade, interviewed by ArmyInform.
The artillerymen operating a Bohdana also specified the range of fire — a piece of data that tends to vary in the public domain. Citing the manufacturer's manuals, they say the declared range is 42 km for a conventional and 60 km for a rocket-assisted projectile. The howitzer is produced by PJSC Kramatorsk Heavy Duty Machine Tool Building Plant.

Battery sergeant Dmytro also told the journalists that their Bogdana "usually hits the target with the second shot already."
Further down the interview, we can find out that, for example, during combat operations in the Donetsk region, a Bogdana crew was tasked with firing at targets 30 kilometers away, mostly aiming at armored vehicles, artillery systems, ammunition depots, observation points, and fortifications. The operational range of 2S22 Bogdana on the road is 800 kilometers, down to 300 km on rough terrain, the max. on-road speed is 80 km/h, the combat weight is 28 tons.

To protect a self-propelled gun in its position, Ukrainians use electronic warfare systems, air defense cover provided by mobile fire groups, as well as camouflage and anti-drone nets. Then, the combat operation algorithm is, quote:
"Deployment on a firing spot, aiming at the target, a shot, fire adjustment, a shot, one more shot, if needed, and then quick displacement and relocation to a hideout or another firing spot."
Dmytro adds that there is already one Bogdana in his brigade that has already fired 3,000 rounds; howitzers with a shot count of over 2,000 are not rare either.
Among the most common malfunctions encountered when operating a Bogdana are a squib or the replacement of operating rings on the gun, sometimes lags of on-board electronics. All necessary repairs are performed by personnel of the manufacturing plant, the crew only has to deliver their gun to a safe place.
