The russians are equipping their new UMPB-5R jet-glide bomb with the latest 16-element Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA). A significant difference is that this antenna is not made in China, like, for example, the antennas that can be seen on long-range strike drones of the Geran (Shahed) type, but is already russian-made.
A photo of the CRPA hat the russians are putting on their UMPB-5R was published by Ukrainian radio-technical systems specialist Serhiy Beskrestnov, callsign Flash. This is the first time a photo of this antenna has appeared online, and what stands out is the unusual arrangement of the antenna elements.

"russian scientists probably worked here. We should expect such antennas on both glide bombs as well as Shahed-type drones," the expert emphasizes. It should be noted that the russian military industry, despite the fact that it still uses Western-made components for the production of weapons, which it supplies through roundabout routes, is also working on creating its own models. Apparently, this is done taking into account the conclusions of the operation of a particular weapon on the battlefield.
The fact that russians are installing new CRPA with a larger number of elements on its weapons indicates that Ukrainian electronic warfare means are really becoming an obstacle to enemy weapons, the expert emphasizes. Let us recall that it is thanks to such a CRPA that a drone can reach a target and hit it, overcoming the effects of electronic warfare.
For example, at the beginning of this year, photos of 8-element Chinese CRP antennas on the Shahed-type drones, then information appeared about the appearance of a 12-element CRPA by the russians, and a month after that - a 16-element CRPA of Chinese production. Now the russians are equipping their means of destruction, with which they terrorize Ukrainians, with 16-element antennas of their own production.

By the way, the UMPB-5R turbojet glide bomb is equipped with a Chinese-made SW800 jet engine by Swiwin company. The range of this jet glide bomb can be up to 150 km.
