Called 'Alligator', Ka-52 is touted as one of Russia's most sophisticated attack helicopters which have been destroyed, skillfully and regularly, by Ukrainian forces

Ukrainian Armed Forces have continued destroying Russia’s newest airplanes and helicopters.

Videos shared on social media show one more of the Russian Ka-52 helicopters, with tail number 76 “red” (RF-13411), being shot down by Ukrainian air defenses on Wednesday, March 16.

The video, purportedly taken in a location near Voznesenske outside of the city of Mykolayiv, was shot out of the air with a full bomb load, meaning it was destroyed before it had been able to complete its intended deadly mission.

Interestingly, another Russian Alligator, carrying tail number 74 “red” (RF-13409), assigned to the same helicopter unit of the Russian armed forces, was downed outside Kherson four days earlier.

Emergency escape systems in both aircraft had not been activated: The two had been shot down with their rotors in place, which are supposed to eject in some accident scenario.

This comes as another evidence of rumors being circulated that rescue ejection systems in Russian combat aircraft in Ukraine are deliberately disabled by ground service workers to prevent pilots being captured and spilling intel.
