Ukrainian forces have retaken approximately 16 square kilometers in Pokrovsk, in Ukraine's Donetsk region, over the past several weeks, according to Commander‑in‑Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander‑in‑Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said the intensity of fighting along the frontline remains extremely high. On some days, the number of combat engagements reaches 300, the highest level recorded since russia launched its full‑scale invasion.

At the same time, russian troop strength has remained at around 710,000 personnel for an extended period. According to Syrskyi, Ukrainian operations have prevented Moscow from reinforcing its forces and compensating for battlefield losses.

"Yes, at the cost of enormous losses, the enemy managed to seize control of some of our territory in November," Syrskyi said. "However, claims by russian propaganda regarding the pace of the russian advance do not reflect reality."

He added that Ukrainian forces are conducting active operations in several key directions, systematically clearing populated areas of russian troops, including in the Pokrovsk sector.

"Our active operations continue in the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration. In Pokrovsk itself, over the past few weeks, we have managed to regain control of about 16 square kilometers in the northern part of the city. Logistics routes to Myrnohrad remain difficult but operational," Syrskyi said.

He also reported that no territorial losses have been recorded in the Kupiansk, Kostiantynivka, or Prydniprovskyi operational directions.

"I express my deep gratitude to Ukrainian soldiers, sergeants, and officers who are holding the line with dignity," Syrskyi said. "They are the strongest guarantee of our independence and the most powerful argument in negotiations aimed at achieving a just peace. We continue to destroy the enemy and systematically degrade its army and economy."

In addition, Syrskyi highlighted the effectiveness of Ukraine's long‑range strike capabilities. Over the past month, DeepStrike assets carried out 81 fire missions, striking 98 enemy targets on russian territory. These attacks included strikes against russia's oil‑refining sector, a key source of funding for the war.

Ukrainian artillery units struck more than 4,100 enemy targets in November, while missile forces hit over 100 targets, he added.
