Operators from the Requiem Group of the Balista unit within Ukraine's Special Operations Forces have conducted a successful strike on russian territory, destroying two KOP-2 electronic warfare systems, according to a video released on November 28. The operation marks another precise and highly coordinated Ukrainian action aimed at degrading russia's battlefield awareness and drone countermeasures.
The KOP-2 is a short-range electronic warfare platform used to jam UAVs and protect frontline units from reconnaissance and strike drones. Its destruction further erodes russia's already strained ability to counter Ukraine's rapidly expanding fleet of FPV and long-range UAVs. For a force that relies heavily on EW to compensate for gaps in its air defense coverage, such losses carry both tactical and operational consequences.

In addition to two EW systems, the Requiem operators successfully targeted and hit a motorcyclist, two trucks, two antennas, a gun, and other unspecified equipment. These secondary strikes indicate a well-executed operation aimed at not only destroying high-value assets but also disrupting local logistics and communications nodes supporting russian units in the area.
The footage published by the Requiem Group shows a series of precise drone-delivered strikes, demonstrating the growing proficiency of Ukrainian SOF units in integrating reconnaissance, strike drones and real-time targeting.
The group captioned the video with a characteristically sharp remark, "Expanding the sanitary zone on the cursed lands."
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian drone operators have dealt a major blow to russia's layered air defense system, damaging three high-value surface-to-air missile systems worth an estimated $60 million, according to a statement by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces on November 28. The strike targeted russian Buk-M1, Buk-M2, and Tor-M2, all core elements of russia's medium- and short-range air defense architecture.
