Ukrainian drone operators from the Achilles 429th Regiment have destroyed russian BTR-82A armored personnel carrier during ongoing heavy fighting on the Pokrovsk front. According to the unit, the russian vehicle attempted to advance under the cover of dense fog, hoping to exploit reduced visibility to infiltrate Ukrainian positions.
The attempt failed. Reconnaissance teams detected the movement early, allowing the Achilles strike crews to prepare a rapid engagement. Within moments, the operators targeted the armored vehicle and delivered a precise strike, setting the BTR-82A vehicle ablaze before it could deploy its infantry or retreat to safety.

The BTR-82A unit is one of russia's modernized wheeled armored personnel carriers, equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon and designed for high mobility in difficult terrain. Its destruction not only eliminates a combat asset but also reduces the enemy's ability to maneuver troops quickly along the vulnerable Pokrovsk axis.
Ukrainian forces emphasize that the foggy conditions were intended to give the russian crew an advantage, masking their approach and complicating early detection. Instead, the strike highlights how effectively Ukrainian operators have adapted their surveillance and targeting tactics even in degraded visibility.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian Shamanbat unit have conducted joint airborne training with the aviation component of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, practicing helicopter insertion in conditions designed to mirror real combat. According to the Defense Intelligence, the exercise focused on sharpening rapid deployment skills essential for reconnaissance and strike missions behind enemy lines.
