Ukraine's Special Operations Forces have carried out a coordinated week-long drone campaign targeting russian logistics infrastructure along a critical land corridor linking russia to temporarily occupied Crimea. The strikes, reported on April 20, focused on disrupting supply chains that sustain russian military operations in the south of Ukraine.
The attacks were conducted across occupied areas of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. These territories host a key overland route that russia has been actively developing since the early stages of the full-scale invasion. The corridor serves as a vital artery for transporting troops, equipment, ammunition, and fuel toward Crimea and frontline positions.

The Middle-strike drone units executed precision strikes on multiple high-value targets. In the settlements of Mykilske, Makedonivka, and Markove, located near the strategic hub of Mariupol, operators hit three arsenals and three supply depots. These facilities likely stored ammunition and materiel intended for redistribution along the southern axis.
In addition to storage sites, Ukrainian forces also targeted logistics hubs that coordinate the movement of supplies. Two such hubs were struck in Mykilske and Markove, further complicating russia's ability to manage and distribute resources efficiently across the theater.
Markove holds particular strategic significance due to its proximity to the border and its position along a key route leading directly to Crimea. This makes it an essential node in the broader logistics network, enabling the steady flow of reinforcements and supplies from russian territory into temporarily occupied areas.
Mykilske, meanwhile, lies along a branch of this main corridor that extends toward Zaporizhzhia. Its location makes it a crucial junction point, supporting both lateral and forward distribution of military assets. Disruptions here can have cascading effects on multiple operational directions.
