Fighters of the Asgard FPV unit from the Nemesis 412th Regiment carried out a remarkable operation, destroying over 300 Soviet-made TM-62 anti-tank mines with just a single drone strike. The event highlights how small, inexpensive UAVs can neutralize massive amounts of enemy explosives.
The total weight of the detonated mines amounted to nearly 2.5 tons of explosives. Such a concentration of charges creates devastating power within a 30-50 meter radius, while the lethal fragmentation zone extends up to 100-150 meters.

The resulting detonation was so powerful that it produced an effect similar to a light earthquake, with a magnitude of up to 2.5 on the Richter scale. The shockwave was compared by the soldiers to a strike from a powerful aerial bomb.
The TM-62 mine, widely used by russian forces, is designed to disable armored vehicles. However, when stored in bulk, these mines become a highly vulnerable target for precision FPV attacks, turning the enemy's weapon stockpile into a liability.
The Asgard unit’s strike demonstrates the force-multiplying effect of FPV drones, which can deliver strategic-level destruction with minimal resources. Unlike artillery or aircraft, a single drone costing a few hundred dollars can unleash destruction equivalent to a ton of heavy ordnance.
For Ukrainian defenders, such operations not only deplete russian mine reserves but also deny the enemy the ability to saturate frontlines with anti-tank barriers, potentially easing future advances of Ukrainian armored units.
As Defense Express previously reported, in Donetsk region, pilots of the Phoenix State Border Guard Service's unit have carried out a successful strike mission, eliminating a range of high-value enemy assets. According to the service, the operation targeted both heavy weaponry and supporting equipment of russian forces entrenched in the area.
