Ukrainian drone operators have carried out another series of precision middle strike attacks against russian military infrastructure in temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk region.
The strikes were conducted by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, which released combat footage and details of the operation on May 12. According to the official statement, operators from the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces successfully targeted multiple high-value assets used by russian troops in the east of Ukraine.

Among the most significant targets were the Soviet-designed PRV-16 radar altimeter and the P-18 early warning radar station. PRV-16 system is primarily used to determine the altitude of aerial targets and assist enemy air defense units with missile guidance and target tracking. Destroying or disabling such equipment can significantly complicate the operation of integrated air defense networks.
The second radar, the P-18, is a meter-band surveillance radar widely used for the early detection of aircraft, cruise missiles, and drones. Despite its Cold War-era origins, the system remains valuable due to its ability to detect low-observable and low-flying aerial targets at long distances. Its loss weakens russian situational awareness and reduces reaction time against Ukrainian aerial operations.
In addition to the radar systems, Ukrainian drones reportedly struck fuel storage facilities, ammunition depots, and deployment points used by russian troops. These targets are particularly important because they directly affect the enemy's ability to sustain combat operations, maintain armored vehicles, and supply frontline units.
As Defense Express previously reported, russia launched another large-scale overnight drone attack against Ukraine on May 13, deploying more than 200 strike unmanned aerial vehicles in an attempt to overwhelm the country's air defenses. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the majority of the drones were either shot down or suppressed by electronic warfare systems during the attack.
