On March 12, pilots from the Phoenix unit successfully destroyed a loaded enemy BM-21 Grad rocket launcher, neutralizing a significant threat on the front line. The action was captured on video and released by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The enemy had hidden the loaded Grad in a reinforced caponier, covering it with logs, likely waiting for an opportune moment to launch a salvo. Ukrainian drones, however, detected the position and eliminated the threat before it could be used against Ukrainian forces.

This recent strike is part of a series of successful operations in the same sector. Over the past few days, Ukrainian forces have managed to locate and destroy two enemy Grads systems, significantly degrading the adversary's artillery capabilities.
In addition to the rocket launchers, the enemy suffered the loss of several artillery pieces and dozens of assault troops, highlighting the growing effectiveness of Ukrainian precision strikes.
Perhaps most notably, the Phoenix unit targeted and eliminated several enemy drone control points along with their operators. This move disrupted enemy reconnaissance and attack coordination, further securing the frontline for Ukrainian forces.
The video shows the precise execution of the strike, emphasizing the integration of drones into modern border and frontline operations. Ukrainian units have increasingly relied on UAVs to detect, track, and neutralize threats before they can be employed against troops and civilian areas.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian drone operators carried out a series of strikes against russian military targets on temporarily occupied territories during the night of March 12, 2026. The operation involved several units of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces and targeted air defense systems, logistics infrastructure, and military facilities belonging to russian forces.
