Operators of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have destroyed key russian military equipment in separate strikes across the eastern and southern fronts. The operations targeted a short-range air defense system and a multiple launch rocket system, further degrading russia's combat capabilities in the region.
According to footage released on March 9 by the Unmanned Systems Forces, operators from the 1st Separate Center of Unmanned Systems successfully struck and destroyed russian Tor surface-to-air missile system in Donetsk region. The Tor is a mobile short-range air defense system designed to intercept aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and drones, making it an important component of russia's frontline air defense.

The elimination of such a system is significant for Ukrainian forces, as Tor platform is commonly used to protect troop concentrations and key military assets from aerial threats. Destroying it can create temporary gaps in local air defense coverage and make russian positions more vulnerable to reconnaissance drones, loitering munitions, and air strikes.
In a separate operation in Zaporizhzhia region, operators from the Raid 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment destroyed russian BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system. The Grad is a widely used artillery platform capable of delivering saturation rocket fire over large areas, posing a persistent threat to Ukrainian positions and nearby settlements.
The strike on the Grad launcher not only removes an immediate source of indirect fire but also contributes to reducing the enemy's ability to conduct rapid artillery bombardments along the frontline. Russian forces continue to rely heavily on such systems to maintain pressure on Ukrainian defensive lines.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have conducted a series of high-precision strikes against russian military infrastructure in temporarily occupied territories, targeting several key radar systems in Crimea and a command post in Donetsk region. The operation was carried out by the Middle-strike units of Ukraine's SOF, with footage of the attacks released by the command of the Special Operations Forces.
