Russia is heavily using guided aerial bombs to target Ukrainian positions. The russian military has the capacity to launch up to 100 bombs per day, Yuriy Ignat, the spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported.
He explained that guided aerial bombs are particularly dangerous due to their ability to fly up to 70 kilometers from the launch site to the target. Yuriy Ignat noted that russia initially tested these weapons in Kherson region, with the Beryslavsky district suffering significant damage.

Yuriy Ignat emphasized the severity of the threat posed by bombs attacks. He stated that the only effective countermeasure is to eliminate the aircraft carrying the bombs, which include Su-35 and Su-34 fighter jets. These aircraft can be launched from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, the sea or even from russian territory.

“To counter these aircraft, we need long-range air defense missile systems like Patriot or F-16 fighter jets equipped with missiles capable of reaching russian Sukhoi aircraft. At the very least, we need to deter them from approaching our borders and push them back,” Yuriy Ignat explained.
