The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released a video with episodes of combat work of the 49th Engineer Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Support Forces during the operation in the Kursk region. This footage shows episodes of making passages in russian minefields and ensuring the passage of Ukrainian warriors deep into the defense of russian troops. This was provided by the warriors of the 49th Engineer Assault Brigade.
This is a rare footage that not only demonstrates the first hours and days of the Kursk operation, but the breakthrough of the enemy's fortified defenses. This is a complex type of warfare and significantly contradicts the picture of the alleged "ease of the offensive" that has been falsely portrayed in the media.

According to the footage, the 49th Engineer Assault Brigade has remote demining systems (probably Soviet UR-77 mine clearing vehicle or American M58 MICLIC), Wisent 1 MC engineering vehicles and Biber bridgelayer (both vehicles are based on the Leopard 1 chassis).
It can be assumed that the 49th Brigade has its own UAV units that provide the necessary support for actions to break through enemy fortified defenses.
At the same time, it should be noted that several other important aspects of this story remain unknown. First, whether the name "engineer assault brigade" implies a special concept of using such units in battles against russian occupiers.

Secondly, whether only the 49th Brigade will have the status of an "engineer assault brigade" or whether additional brigades with the same status will be formed within the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukraine's breakthrough in Kursk had shown NATO how to fight against russia.
