Ukrainian operators struck a locomotive used for military cargo transport near the Ukrainian border, continuing a rapid campaign against russian rail logistics

Operators of Ukraine's Raid 413th Regiment have struck another russian locomotive used to transport military cargo, this time in russia's Bryansk region. Footage of the operation was released by the unit, highlighting Ukraine's ongoing campaign against russian military logistics.

The strike reportedly took place near the village of Pantusov, approximately 40 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The locomotive was being used to support military transportation efforts, making it a valuable target within russia's supply network.

According to the regiment, this is the third locomotive disabled by its operators within the past four days. The unit previously targeted two locomotives operating in the eastern part of temporarily occupied Crimea.

Those earlier strikes were carried out against trains moving along the Dzhankoi-Kerch railway line, a critical route used to sustain russian forces stationed on the peninsula. The railway remains one of the most important logistical arteries connecting Crimea with rear supply areas.

The Raid Regiment claims that the campaign against railway infrastructure is already producing visible effects. In particular, passenger rail traffic in Crimea was reportedly suspended beginning on June 8, demonstrating the broader impact that attacks on military transport assets can have on regional rail operations.

Throughout the war, rail transport has played a central role in russian military logistics. Trains are used to move fuel, ammunition, equipment, and personnel over long distances far more efficiently than road transport, making locomotives and railway infrastructure targets for Ukrainian forces.
